The brief was to create a campaign that looked at three major environmental issues on campus and encourage students and staff to make small changes to keep the university sustainable.
The three issues chosen were, promoting walking, reducing food waste and toilet paper use. This campaign has a distinctive colour scheme and retro look that connects with the ‘student vibe’ of the city, this is mainly influenced by the interest in vintage fairs.
The campaign uses the slogan Pace it, Tweet it, Eat it and looks at the idea of ‘Carbon fingerprint’ that looks at users sustainability promotion on social media.
The Pace it posters promotes a step count that allows you to compete with other students in order to win prizes. This was promoted using a snapchat viral campaign which would be released and shared online.
The Tweet it poster invited users to tweet sustainable messages that will be printed on toilet rolls. This could be done using the hashtag #TWEETTHESHEET.
The Eat it Poster encourages people to use all their leftover food so that they don’t waste as much. The App provides recipes using the ingredients entered by the user, the app also encourages people to post pictures of their meals on instagram.
